About clocbox
clocbox is a free online desk clock and focus timer that runs entirely in your browser. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and nothing to install — open the page and the current time is already on screen in large, easy-to-read digits. It is designed to be left running on a desk, a nightstand, or a second monitor for hours at a time.
Everything happens on your own device. The clock reads your local system time, the timer counts down using real elapsed time, and your preferences — theme, night mode, time zone, and focus duration — are remembered privately in your browser only.
How the focus timer works
- Tap the Pomodoro Timer box to open the duration menu.
- Choose a preset — 15, 25, 30, 45, 50, 60, or 90 minutes — or type any whole number of minutes into the Custom field. The classic 25-minute Pomodoro is the default.
- The countdown starts immediately and replaces the clock with your remaining focus time. Tap the same box to pause or resume, and use Reset to clear the session.
- When the timer reaches zero, the session ends and the clock returns. Nothing restarts automatically — you stay in control.
The countdown is calculated from the actual time that has passed, not from subtracting one second at a time, so it stays accurate even if your browser briefly slows down background tabs.
Built for the dark
clocbox uses a pitch-black background with soft, low-contrast digits to be gentle on your eyes and your screen. Night Mode dims every element on the page for late-night use, and four midnight themes — Pure Obsidian, Deep Trench, Forest Shadow, and Nebula Veil — let you pick the tone that suits your room. A world time zone selector lets the clock show the time in any major city.
Frequently asked questions
Is clocbox free?
Yes. clocbox is completely free to use, with no accounts, no subscriptions, and no locked features.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no password. Your settings are saved locally in your own browser and never leave your device.
What is a Pomodoro timer?
The Pomodoro technique is a focus method built around working in short, timed sessions — traditionally 25 minutes — followed by a break. clocbox keeps that 25-minute classic as the default and adds longer options for deep-work sessions.
Can I set a custom focus duration?
Yes. Open the Pomodoro Timer box, type any whole number of minutes into the Custom field, and press Start. Your custom duration is remembered for next time.
Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
The countdown is based on the real clock time, so when you return to the tab the remaining time is still correct. For important deadlines, keep the tab visible and use your device's native clock as a backup.
Will clocbox remember my settings?
Yes. Your theme, night mode, time zone, and last focus duration are remembered automatically on the same device and browser — no save button needed. A running timer is never auto-resumed; you always press Start yourself.
